A=Apple Society
The A= Apple Society, Nongstoin, West Khasi Hills District was formed on 2013 and was aimed to work for the welfare and all round development of the district of West Khasi Hills.
1. Free Computer Education: Aimed to bring the youth of rural areas at par with the other youth, the A= Apple Society provided free computer education (three month course) w.e.f 3.12.2013 to 12.03.2014 at R B Computech, New- Nongstoin. Thirty two (32) youths of various villages of West Khasi Hills District benefitted from the free education and certificates were handed out to all the participants after their successful completion of the course.

2. B-Boy Battle: The Apple Society organized a Dance Competition in collaboration with the District Election Department, West Khasi Hills at Basketball Court, New Nongstoin, on the occasion of “National Voter’s Day” entitled B-Boy Battle on 25th January, 2014 with an aim to encourage universal adult suffrage and to provide a platform for the youth to showcase their unique skills through dance.

Volleyball Championship: The A=Apple Society also participated in a Volleyball Championship organised by the District Arts & Culture at Nongkhnum during the Nongkhnum Spring Break Fest 2014 and the tournament won by the Apple Society of
Nongstoin that beat the Nongstoin College at the final.

3. Meeting: The Society holds its General Meeting once every month to discuss ideas relating to upliftment of the society with special focus on youth. The Executive Meeting is held every Friday where reports of the Society are tabled and discussions on future programmes and projects are discussed.
4. Membership: The A= Apple Society has a total of ten (10) executive members and fifteen (15) other members.
5. Fund: The Election Department financially assisted the A= Apple Society during the B- Boy Battle with Rs 10,000/- (ten thousand only). Despite numerous financial constraints, the A= Apple Society functions mainly through membership subscriptions and donations from members.
